I am Honorary Professor at Aston Business School (UK) and Editor in Chief of Research-Technology Management, a peer-reviewed journal for practitioners of innovation, research and technology management. I am also a Partner at Outside Insight Consulting, LLC, which helps companies manage the business of intelligent systems.
I was previously VP of Global Innovation at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where I was responsible for building new businesses and for disruptive technologies. I was also VP, Growth Strategy and Innovation at Pitney Bowes and VP, Network Systems IT at Bell Atlantic (now Verizon).
I write and speak frequently on innovation and technology management. For a list of articles, see my Google Scholar page and my columns on innovation on the IRI Blog.

To me, good technology design means customer-centered innovation, participative design, lean startup techniques and agile development. The user is the touchstone throughout the technology development process
